The Stem Cell Revolution: Over 17 years ago, scientists discovered a way to reverse engineer cells from human skin back into their embryonic "stem-cell" lineage. Patrick Gaines, former Executive Director of the Gates Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Biology on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, will discuss how this discovery is being translated into clinical therapies and expansive new research.

Patrick Gaines has more than 30 years experience helping create sustainable impact in the areas of medical research, higher education, youth development, behavioral health, cultural arts, and various social enterprises.

As a volunteer, musician, ultra-endurance athlete and adventurer, he embraces diverse experiences and challenges himself to continuously grow. Patrick has served in executive roles with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the American Cancer Society, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and is currently an Executive Director of Development with Colorado State University. He has lived in Colorado for 22 years and is the proud father of his son, Christopher, who graduated from CU-Boulder with degrees in Engineering and Space earlier this year.
